Without a doubt this was one of the most challenging books I have ever read. God forbid that we should indulge the blasphemous thought! It holds some of the most priceless Reformed works of God-centered and Christ-glorifying truth that were ever penned. It is the music with which the bells of heaven ring; a song in a word; an ocean for comprehension, although a drop for brevity; a matchless oratorio in two syllables; a gathering up of the hallelujahs of eternity in five letters. If I did not praise and bless Christ my Lord, I should deserve to have my tongue torn out by its roots from my mouth.

Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity. The Lion of the tribe of Judah will soon drive away all his adversaries. It holds some of the most priceless Reformed works of God-centered and Christ-glorifying truth that were ever penned. Preach Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Soli Deo Gloria! He will never allow you to think better of Him than He is; He will come up to the mark of your thoughts, and according to your faith so shall it be done unto you. There is nothing so deluding as feelings. Holiness is better than morality. It is the sum total of all delights.
